What is your wand made of?

Why does an athame only cut the air? What is the difference between a pentagram and a pentacle? Well find your answers here and discuss the subtle differences we encounter.

What is your wand made of?

A nice little poll to see what we all prefer as a wand :)

Some people favour a crystal wand while others love a good old hardy piece of wood. So this poll is looking at what you like, also you may use a certain crystal, wood etc. It would be fantastic to hear what your wand is made of and why.

I actually have a few wands but the one I keep coming back to is my very first hand carved wand. Its a piece of hazel with a knot shaped into a very phallic shape at the end. Its always been truly amazing to use and I've always had good results with it. It also has copper wire running through it as I believe this helps with focusing the energy from myself through it.

Now the reason I love Hazel is because I find nothing more enlightening than sitting next to a Hazel tree and basking in its wisdom. If I feel I can not connect to the ethers and seek out the answer I need, I can always be safe in the knowledge that the Hazel will help. My wand reflects this, I use it in workings of the mysteries, the copper running through it simply helps me maintain my focus.

My wand is wood. I've seen alot of different wands, from metal, crystal, to those huuuuuuge Power wands, but a simple wand of wood does it for me :)

Wood seems to be the most favourite - easy to obtain, easy to whittle and carve, and you can make it a little more personal than say, with metal.

The wand that I carved is made from wood, but I do have another, which is again wooden, but with a spiral effect, with metal spiralling toward the quartz crystal tip, with two small carved crystals on the top and bottom, and a little ball crystal at the bottom.

Edit: Looking through my pictures, and I have a picture of it here :)

Now I like that, I have to ask how does it handle energy?
