Bryn Celli Ddu

This is a board for you to post up any of the wonderful places you have visited or even live near. They can be as simple as a spot in the woods or even stone age structures.

That's the fella. You need to get the key from the shop in the local village, I think you have to leave a fiver deposit. If you go make sure you take a powerful torch with you cos it's blacker than the pits of hell in there. I'll see if I can dig out some of my photies of the carved stones to put on here.

Just had a thought about Bryn celli Ddu. I think that the carved stone outside is a copy and the original is somewhere in a museum in Cardiff.

That's right, it is a copy, the original is sitting in the neolithic section of Cardiff museum ;)

The strange thing though, I swear that the new copied stone has taken on all of the characteristics of the previous one. So I believe the power of that place actually lays with the land its on. Anything that goes in there is assimulated into it, which is pretty impressive in my eyes.

As for the teletubbie house, well I found a site with a pile of pics, I'll start a new thread for that one ;)

im gonna be anal now lol

ddu = black in welsh,

its pronounced THEE lol, but thats what black sounds like when its part of a name like bryn celli ddu im not so sure lol, but this is kinda fun thinking about the phonetics of welsh names, i mean i know places like brynhyfryd and ynysybwl confuse the hell out of people as they appear not to have any vowels in them, in the welsh dialect the Y is a vowel too lol.

just my two pence worth.

I so have to plan a camping trip and get inside again, in a sense I feel I have unfinished buisness there.

Funny that. Recently I keep feeling that it's time I went again.

Well the feeling I get is that I am supposed to confront that ancestor stone after the last time I met it. In a way its feeling more and more like I have a sort of rite of passage to go through. Makes a lot of sense when you consider that such sites were designed for that purpose, but its still a shock to find the pull so strong.

Mind if I ask what you feel is pulling you?

Guess that old ancestor stone has a pull to it lol. Be interesting to see what happens when either one of us face it again ;)
